Steve Mock, of S.F. Mock & Associates in Centerville, received Safeguard's prestigious Vincent G. "Buck" Bell Founder's Award during the company's annual North American Business Meeting held September 7-11 in Las Vegas. The Vincent G. "Buck" Bell Founder's Award is given each year to the one Safeguard distributor throughout North America who most demonstrates the same spirit of service in his or her community that was shown by Safeguard founder, Buck Bell.

Mock, a Safeguard distributor since 1982, has consistently been an active participant in the success of his community. He is a member of Beta Theta Pi, the Centerville Noon Optimists, the Knights of Columbus, and other service-minded groups. He also served as chairman of the St. Leonard Foundation Board of Trustees from 2006-2010 and was a member of the organization's Building on Compassion Campaign Committee, which raised almost $900,000 for expanding St. Leonard's services to the elderly. Mock's work with St. Leonard's continues today as a member of both the Annual Giving/Public Relations Board Committee and the Legacy Golf Committee.

"Steve upholds the ideals and principles of [Safeguard founder] Buck Bell through outstanding efforts in his community," said Safeguard President J.J. Sorrenti. "He has built a legacy to Safeguard, and we believe his service efforts and contributions need to be honored."

Upon winning the award, Mock humbly thanked Safeguard for the honor and went on to urge his fellow distributors to adopt an attitude of service toward others.

"You've got to give back," he said. "I've been very blessed. I've been fortunate enough to be able to give back to my community, and I can't say enough about that. Any time you help others, it comes back to you in so many ways."
